This is a little off the topic but an interesting one none the less. I have hiked extensively in the Mammoth area and been very close to the crash site while going cross country. You never know what you might stumble upon in the mountains. The photos were provided by Bob Rockwell who is a California legend in Mtn Climbing and a SAR member in China Lake.

There is a creepy picture in that set that shows paint on rock which indicated the plane was flying up as it crashed.
