Volunteers Needed For The Santa Ynez Valley Classic

Hello Local Mountain Bike Riders,

This weekend Friday - Sunday we will be doing trail work out on the race courses being used for the 10th Santa Ynez Valley Classic, in Los Olivos and we could really use any help with that. Also, if you have a motocross moto you are welcome to come ride the XC course Friday and Saturday. Hours for both trail work and motoing is 9-4. The race is right around the corner. I also write you to ask for your help on race weekend. As most of you know I have organized the areas largest competitive mountain bike race for the past 10 years. The SYV Classic takes place in 10 days and starts on Friday April 9th and runs through Sunday the 11th. This event is part of 3 different race series and has both Cross Country and Gravity events. Two different National series (the USAC MTB National XC & DH Calendars, the Kenda Cup West) and the CA State Championship Series.

PLEASE LOOK AT THE SCHEDULE AND PICK AT LEAST ONE 5 HOUR WINDOW TO HELP. You will be fed and entered into a volunteer prize raffle. I'd also suggest that ALL of you race it too! Even if you race there is plenty of opportunities to help out. If you race and volunteer for 5 hours on race weekend, I will comp your entry fee. I don't ask you guys, the local mountain biker for much anymore, this time I am asking you to help me pull this event off. I am stressed beyond belief, and I need help.

SYV Mountain Bike Classic Is Coming!

Hello Santa Ynez Valley Mountain Bike Classic Racers, Sponsors and Volunteers!
We hope you're all doing well and enjoying the racing season so far!

The date is set for the 10th running of the Santa Ynez Valley Classic, we are the week prior to Sea Otter, April 10th & 11th! The event as always takes place 5 miles north of Buellton and 3 miles west of Los Olivos at The Dirt Club off Zaca Station Road.

All the pertinent racer info for the Classic is now up @ http://www.ridesb.com/. The XC is a stop on 3 different series, Kenda Cup West, USA Cycling XC National Racing Calendar & the CA State Championship Series. The DH is on the USA Cycling DH National Racing Calendar & is a qualifier for the USA Cycling 1 Day National Championship, it is taking place Saturday the 10th. Please spread the word!

Also, we are in need of many volunteers starting Friday 4/9 and going through Monday 4/12. Santa Ynez Valley Mtn Bike Classic Needs You!

HI everyone!
It's time for the 9th Annual Santa Ynez Valley Mountain Bike Classic, April 23-25. We need your help to make this race a success. Most of you have been a tremendous help in the previous years and we hope you enjoyed contributing to this ever growing event. This year I plan to improve the volunteer raffle so that you get to draw for a prize immediately following your shift. Anyone who won a raffle prize last year but did not receive your prize can follow up with me at the race and I'll take care of it.
Please respond to me and let me know what day and times you can help and your preferred responsibility. We need help Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Course marshalls, registration, parking, timing, water stations, set-up, tear-down and more. Volunteering at the water stations during the cross country race has been fun for high school kids in the past and it's a great way for them to earn volunteer hours for their school programs. And it is vital to the racers when the conditions are so hot and dry. We also need EMTS for Saturday and Sunday. Free parking, free camping, free lunch and raffle ticket for all volunteers!
